The Brain

The human body is divided into many different parts called organs. All of the parts are controlled by an organ called the brain, which is located in the head.  The brain is made up of many cells, and is the control center of the body. The brain flashes messages out to all the other parts of the body.

The system that is responsible for the messages through the brain is called the nervous system. The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system. The brain doesn't just control your organs, but also can think and remember.

The brain is composed three main parts: cerebrum, cerebellum, and the brain stem. Each is responsible for different brain functions.

Cerebrum, is the largest area of the brain that is responsible for our emotion, behavior, balance, coordination, skilled motor activities and more. It has two hemispheres: right and left hemispheres.  The right hemisphere is responsible for the left side of our body while the left hemisphere is responsible for the right side of our body.

Cerebellum is located behind the brain stem. It is responsible for the motor movement, balance, and our brain's ability to determine limb position.
Brain stem is the most important part of our brain because it is responsible for breathing and automatic responses. The brain stem is sometimes referred to as one of the " primitive" parts of the brain. Located at the top of the spinal column, the brain stem controls breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and alertness. Brain stem stroke may cause sudden death.

Human Development

Human Development spans a broad knowledge of human endeavor that has attempted to understand why human beings do the things they do, grow the ways they do, and further what is the potential of human beings.

People create these theories to help humans either deal with problems or to maximize learning and internal developments. Human development is responsible not only in one matter but in all branches that it has.

There are factors affecting Human Development like heredity, environment and the human reproduction. Each has different roles like heredity is the nature of human development while the environment is used to nurture human being. Under the human reproduction, this the widely factor of human development because it contains the Genetic defects, and the Twins. Twins can be divided into three: identical, fraternal and Siamese.  When we say identical twins this means that there is one sperm that splits into two in order to make two lives. The fraternal twins, this means that there are two sperm cells that live. The last but not the least is the Siamese or what we called conjoined twins, these are the twins who actually have a body conjoining. Some parts of their body are stick together.

Human Development also contain the cycle of our lives where fertilization is the first stage and death is the last stage.

Psychology as Science

Is Psychology a Science?

Psychology is known as the scientific study of human behavior and cognitive processes.

However, Psychology came up with many definitions but has the same point. Science as well came up with a lot of definitions appearing to be base on creating theories or explanations which rely on evidence.

Despite issues with validity we could still consider psychology a science as attempts have been made to overcome some of the problems of using controlled psychology experiments.
